Using the best techniques your website can be bright and shiny and it's free. How far can you customize a website for free is another question.
In my experience free stuff always comes with inconvenient side effects. If you seriously plan on building a professional website, then ''free'' will not help you in any way.
On the other hand if you are looking for a fun hobby, then see what fits you best and good luck.
But remember to take a rest from time to time.
